Baby's on the Brain

Well the other day I was talking to my older cousin about my younger cousins yes plural who just so happen to be pregnant. We were discussing things like when my husband and I are going to have one as we always discuss. Families are crazy. Before you get married all they ask is when are you going to get married and as soon as you do its, "When are you going to have a baby?"
Slow down and enjoy life a little, dont be in such a hurry, I will do it when I am goood and ready. I think I need to have some things done before I should be bringing a new life into this world. I know most children aren't planned, no one in my family planned there children aside from my sister who tried and tried and finally gave us our "Big E".
So the things that I want to get done before I start such an adventure are:

I want to get licensed in Architecture, which will hopefully only take me a year since I am already signed up for my first test Feb. 22 and want to/have to pass them all in a year or I will have to take the new tests. I really dont want to be a big old prego and at a testing site with kids trying to make a good score on their SAT's

Also My husband and I are moving to San Diego in April '09 so I want to not be pregnant during a move across country and having to stop at every rest stop to empty my bladder.

Karen, Lacie and I are planning a trip to Italy sometime in the Spring or Fall of '09 so I really dont want to be "swole up like a tick" and waddling through the streets of Italy eating all the pasta and marinara that I can find and not being able to wash it down with any wine.

Although it looks like my schedule shows that I should wait until Winter '09 to become a balluga whale my hubby is one of those people that is in a bit of a hurry. Also when I think about being in San Diego so far away and prego it would be much easier if I were closer to home and used to my surroundings.

So after Cathryn freaks out about this blog just like she has about one's in my past, I can change the subject.

I came up with these ideas related to babies.
The first one is an invention of the sorts.
It is a big heating pad for parents to put under the sheets in a crib in the winter. I freeze in the winter and always have an electric blanket on my bed. I know the saying to not put a lot of blankets in your baby's crib for fear of SIDS so I thought of this idea. The heating pad would have a thermostat so the parents could set it on a certain temperature and the infant would stay warm and cozy.

The second idea stemmed from the conversation that I had with my cousin that I mentioned at the beginning of the blog. Our family has had 4 baby's in the past 4 years and have 2 more on the way. I think that we could get a storage unit for baby stuff that holds the families cribs, strollers, clothes, etc. When a mother is expecting she goes and picks out what she needs and uses it and then takes it back when the child has grown out of it and it is there for the next mother to use. Sort of like a free thrift store.
